Freedom of Speech

Overseas trained doctors in Queensland public hospitals become victims of strangled relationship between some hospital employees and administration officers

Since the state opposition parties used Dr Jayant Patel event as a polical tool to attack Labour Party government, and Labour Premier Peter Bettie launched Morris Inquiry to victimise / scapegoate Dr Patel in order to survive, some rogue hospital employees didn't waste time to use this opportunity retaliating against their bosses whom they had difficult relationship with. Overseas trained doctors are vulnerable and they have no power to defence themselves. It is obvious recently that anyone can use their knives to blindly stab overseas trained doctors without feeling guilty. I frequently heard on the radio, saw on the TV and read in the newspapers that such-and-such hospital had problems with overseas trained doctors. They often accused overseas trained doctors as a whole while ignoring the fact that most of overseas trained doctors have good medical knowledge and clinical skills. There are thousands of overseas trained doctors in Queensland. They work hard and they often do works that Australian trained doctors don't want to do. Without them the whole health system may collapse.

The following Queensland hospitals "had problems with overseas trained doctors":

Bundaburg Hospital
Harvey Bay Hospital
Townsville Hospital
Rochhamptom Hospital
Beaudesert Hospital
